Family Foundations Academy LLC founder, Lori, has always been passionate about promoting love within families. Since Lori was of age to babysit, she found joy in helping families stay connected. She understood the value of parents having time together (alone) and how important it was for busy families to be able to relax, play, and communicate with one another. She didn’t only babysit these children; she modeled and taught them how to give back to their families and communities, resolve conflicts with siblings, and helped them gain confidence within themselves. It did not stop there; she also wanted to give back to the parents. She would do light household chores to free up time for the parents and allow the family more time to be together. 

This is where the story began and the passion blossomed. Lori’s passion led her to earn an Early Childhood teaching certificate that began her career as a Preschool teacher in the early ‘90’s, followed by volunteering at her own children’s elementary school in numerous programs (their library, the Title reading program with second graders, and being involved as a room parent), and eventually returning to college to earn a degree in Psychology with a focus on women and children. She then turned her career to providing Case Management services with families of children, 8 years old and younger, providing parent education programs (such as Triple P), and working with Preschool Centers as an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, coaching and offering support to teachers and staff working with young children. Through this work, Lori was able to witness the everyday challenges and struggles of many families, along with so many wonderful strengths and blessings each person and family possessed but may not have been able to let shine. Through different styles of parenting support, she was able to empower and assist with increasing parent confidence while decreasing aggressive and/or challenging childhood behaviors. Lori recently earned her Infant Massage Educator Certificate through Infant Massage USA and is a current member of both Infant Massage USA and International Association of Infant Massage. 

Family Foundations Academy LLC was founded on the principle that all people are unique, valued, important, and deserve to feel loved and respected. We know the value and have witnessed the impact that healthy attachments, respected relationships, and nurturing connections have on individuals, families, and communities.
